I'm reading Patricia Cornwell's "Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper (Case Closed)". Interesting read. She applies today's techniques and knowledge to a very old case, such as gathering DNA off stamps that were licked and afixed to envelopes and comparing letters, drawings, and incidences.

That is a fascinating and creepy read, and I wouldn't be surprised if her conclusions were correct.
